my commonapp essay was pretty good but my "why emory" was excellent
recs were excellent

i applied for ED II... any thoughts, esp from EDI accepted kids!?

I applied EDII last year-- your SAT scores and GPA aren't as strong as they could be, but you've definitely taken difficult classes, and that counts for a lot. i'd say you've got a pretty good chance of getting in, but make sure you have other options in case emory doesn't work out. you said you already applied.. isn't the app due jan 1st?

Paradycia is right. uw gpa and courseload are more important for Emory than weighted gpa. Your gpa and SATs are below the averages for Emory. However, you have great ec's. I'm just not sure if they're enough to offset the other stats. If your essays and recs are good, you should have chances, especially EDII.

In my last official visit, we were all told by the counselor that rigor of courses was the number 1 factor followed by GPA. Then it's a mix of everything else (SAT, EC, Recs are near the top of the mix, essays, legacy, etc.)

You're looking very good with the IB alone. SAT is made up by that.

I will have taken my 14th AP exam this may. And I've been in the gifted program throughout high school. The counselor told me I have a very good chance with that alone.

And that was with 1870 SAT I took from my first time.

I retook it and got a 2080.

The point is that your rigor of courses looks very good and I think you have a pretty good chance. Feb. 1st!!
