<p>Just sent my last grad app, curious as to what you all think my chances are.</p>

<p>Rice
GPA: 3.51/4.0 Overall, 3.59/4.0 Major, 3.67/4.0 (2 recent years)
GRE: 770Q 610V 4.5W
Areas: Wireless, Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, Body Area Networks</p>

<p>Publications: 0 - In the process of publishing a paper based on my summer research involving head tracking for power management from summer 2010. </p>

<p>Research: Designed an autonomous quadrotor and taught it for an undergraduate course this year. Studied Compressive Sensing, Wavelet Transforms, and 3-D imaging during 2009.</p>

<p>Senior Design: Guitar Effects Processor - 3rd place TI Analog Design Competition</p>

<p>Recs: 1 very strong from an assistant professor (my current research professor)
1 strong from my previous research professor (bigshot in DSP, does TED talks.)
1 from university professor (famous latino professor in applied math) but I can't predict it--he offered me a rec letter without me asking after I took his graduate course though I did not do well.
1 good to strong from senior design professor</p>

<p>Schools: CMU, MIT, Berkeley, USC, Princeton, CalTech, Georgia Tech</p>

<p>Extra stuff: applied to NSF, Ford, Luce and AT & T Labs fellowships. Also, I took care of my father through cancer treatment the past year while doing school. Applied Math minor and Mexican.</p>
