Colleges I'm applying to: Brown, Harvard, Yale (legacy), Wesleyan (recs. from students on campus as well), and Columbia (legacy).

I would love to hear what everyone thinks on this. I know these schools are sometimes rather 'random' with how students are admitted, but i was curious to know if i have a good shot. Any feedback?? Thanks to all that reply!

Wesleyan is a yes.

You've got an excellent record that is consistent over a good period of time. Your SATs are a bit low but won't matter much at this point. I say apply to all of them as you're competitive.

just wondering, but do recs from current students really do much? you said that you were going to get some from current students at Wesleyan. would they just highlight your character? what's the deal with them?

honestly....it's little/if anything. if current students know you they can fill out a form @ the admissions office i believe. but then again, one's transcript, recs, and essays are undoubtedly weighed the most. i wouldn't say it would make 'that difference'.

what's your major?

(and I'd retake that sat)

double & minor: Political Science, Sociology, & a minor in Criminal Justice

too late to retake it. w/e....most schools say they don't place that much weight on the SATs for transfer students, esp. ones going in for the junior year.
