Hi! Clemson is my dream school, and I was wondering what my chances of getting in are. I am out of state (California). I have an UW 3.66 GPA and W 3.87 GPA. My ACT Composite Score is a 31. ECs: Over 400 hours of community service from volunteering at places such as my local hospital, the Boys and Girls Club, YMCA etc. My volunteering at the BGC has turned into a job and I have worked there for 2 years. I have attended a highly competitive medical program in my area with only 71 students getting in out of 450. 12 students were selected into my specific program. I have also attended a medical program at Georgetown.
If anyone could tell me my chances of getting in, as well as if I qualify for merit scholarships that would be great. Is it true if I do qualify for a merit scholarship I should hear back soon? Submitted my application in mid-August.
Clemson looks at GPA, test scores, rank and rigor most heavily for admission. ECs are considered the least in the decision process, but are important if applying to Calhoun Honors College. Class rank is inportant when evaluating eligibility doe scholarships . I’ve included a link to the common data set for last year’s admissions so that you can evaluate your stats in comparison to last year’s class. I’ve also included a link to OOS scholarships. Last year it specifically said ACT scores 32 and above or SAT scores of 1400 were eligible for a 15,000 scholarship . It no longer specifies that in the link , so I’m not sure if that is still the case, but it appears that you may be eligible for at least 7500.00. Clemson admits to major so that definitely affects chances of admission. Clemson states that their notification date is in Feb, but some people in the past have reported beginning to receive notification of admission beginning late Nov /Early Dec.Clemson admissions have gotten more selective over the past several years , so it has become more difficult to predict acceptances, . Good luck.
