Some of my essays are (i think) great, some are generic/mediocre.

I'm white and Japanese.

So whatcha think?

Your specifications sound great. The fact that your SAT scores are quite good and you’re a sportsperson, as I see, you have all the qualities of a good student they’re looking for. However these days, the application process is very different. So it all depends how they take your application, which course you apply to, whether you’re applying for financial aid, what are your artistic qualities. All of that goes together. But to me, I loved your application.

Rice, Cornell and Georgia Tech would love to have you.

Stanford, Princeton and Harvard don’t have any specific formula, as you may know. Your academic specs are great. However they might find your participation too low in artistic areas. So make sure your essay speaks volumes about your aesthetic personality because that is what they’ll look for in you. I repeat, academically there is no paucity in your application.

academically, you’re great! however, a lot of schools look primarily to the essays to see if you would fit into their school. make sure your personality shines through! other than that, i would say that most of these you will get into. the super ones, like princeton, stanford, harvard, are fairly unpredictable, but i would say you are a competitive applicant. chance back?

Very, very impressive stats. Bravo on an excellent high school career. University of Maryland is a safety, Georgia Teach is a safety as well. USC is a likely match, rice is a match and the rest are all reaches (simply because these schools are reaches for everyone). That being said, I would say you have a much better chance at these schools then the average applicant. Good Luck! and would love a chance back, thanks!

Your fantastic academic qualifications and strong ECs ensure your application will go to the full committee at every school you apply to. For the top schools, you greatest concerns should be your teacher recommendations, your essays, ensuring your entire application is solid and well presented, and being well-prepared for your interviews - it’s these factors that will make or break your application.

Assuming you do your best on all of these (the second letter of recommendation being perhaps the greatest concern), I would think you stand a very good chance of being accepted to one of the top schools.

Like everyone else said…
Fantastic stats. All you need now are great recoms and essays. Good luck…
