Again, "below average" would be a relative term here. My statistics are below average among those on CC. That is all I'm saying. I don't consider myself below average by any means: otherwise as someone else said I wouldn't consider schools like Michigan and Georgetown. Gees, calm down.

Just to let you know, you are right about the Asian underrepresented thing at LACs. They actually go out of their way to recruit Asian students in order to get them away from the top schools. So.. that might give you a push at Wesleyan at least.

Cool...bumpbumpbump

You should have received something for your PSAT scores. I had a 204 in New Jersey, and I got a letter stating that I could send my scores to 2 colleges for free. Your 216 should get you commended.

I'm in California though...the cutoff could have been higher.

you aint getting into any college if you have a negative GPA!
jk :)

you better get ready for your local community college.

That's NOT negative. The dash is simply there because I don't know how to indent and it looks better.

bumpbumpbump

bumpbumpbump

you might get into USC

HOLY CRAP If you think you're below average, prepare for an unhappy and disappointing life of inability to be content. You are NOT below average, but ABOVE it!!!!!

Commended cutoff is 203 everywhere, semifinalist in cali is higher than 216 though.

You have very good chances at the schools listed (but realistically are you planning on applying to 20 schools? that will bring down your chances as well as others' at admission) and applying ED will give you a further boost. I would say NYU, Georgetown, BU, BC, and USC are moderate to big reaches (NYU and USC being you have a good shot but not so much with Georgetown and BC), so you should consider carefully which of these you would actuallly want to attend. By limiting your list down to 7-11 schools you not only save yourself the stress but also the 45+ dollars per application. Also, since your looking at some UCs, why not check out Santa Barbara? Berkeley is out of reach for all us normal people, along with UCLA and perhaps UCSD, but Santa Barbara might be worth looking at.

I hate people who classify themselves as average... Your SAT scores are like in the 95percentile.. Your GPA is wel above average of 2.0

you are fine def. above average. When classifying who is above and below average they do not rate you against others of your own race so don't be blinded by that. You have more than a very good chance at getting into College Park, this coming form someone living in MD, and the other schools listed. To make you fell better I got into Rice, NYU, and Cornell with stats much, much worse than yours :)

bumpbumpbump....

BTW is applying EDII to Wesleyan or Colgate going to help in any way, shape or form?

Currently I like Wesleyan better....so if I end up doing EDII to one of those I would do Wesleyan

As others have stated - "below average" ??! No way! Some of your scores are lower than many CCers CLAIM theirs are. You should be very proud.

Not below average... don't worry that much. Oh, and Cypress, I'm not making up MY scores. They're in a couple threads here and perfectly real.

Just pare down the schools you are applying to... that's way too many.

That list is preliminary....my actual is a lot smaller:

ROUND I
1. New York University-Stern School of Business (ED)
2. University of Maryland-College Park
3. University of Michigan
4. UC Davis/UC Irvine (I'd like to avoid these please)
If I get rejected from #1.....

ROUND II
1. Wesleyan University (EDII?)
2. Colgate University
3. McGill University
4. Indiana U-Kelley direct admit
5. University of Virginia? (I'll probably get rejected so probably not)
6. Univ of Southern California Marshall School of Business
7. Boston University School of Management

Um...oh the two classes I'm taking at Dickinson, they're for credit by the way, and I'm expecting like a 3.65-4.0 on the two classes....:)

And no I didn't get anything for my PSAT scores other than a book from Harvard and Columbia.

I'm wondering if applying to Wesleyan EDII would help me in any way, shape or form or not....
