OK...so here it goes:

-3.50 (10, 11)

Courseload:

-French 610 (retaking)

ACT:
-Taking in september (I took a practice test for 2 hrs 45 minutes with no breaks from the red book and got a 29...so after ungodly amounts of studying, I expect a 31, 32 or 33 if I do well.

-Symposium Committee (executive council)
-100 or so hours of community service

Other stuff to consider:
-I'm instate in California.
-I'll have really good recommendations.
-I'm attending this program in international business and management at Dickinson College over the summer and I'll get a really good recommendation from one of the professors at the program.
-I guess I'm the first person to go to college at the UNDERGRADUATE level in the US in my immediate family...I guess this doesn't count since my mom went to grad school here and my dad has a PhD.
-I don't have legacies anywhere.
-I visited NYU, BU, BC and Wesleyan in the summer.
-I go to a pretty competitive high school where the cumulative average is around 3.0 and where around 30% of students go to top schools.

So there's my profile....here's my list (in no particular order):

-NYU (Stern) ED
-University of Michigan
-McGill University (Management)
-Georgetown University (MSB)
-University of Virginia
-Wesleyan University
-Colgate University
-University of Illinois (Business)
-University of Maryland
-Indiana University (Kelley)
-University of Toronto
-University of Southern California (Marshall)
-University of Wisconsin
-Oberlin College
-Babson College
-Bucknell University
-Boston University (Management)
-Boston College (Management)
-UC Davis
-UC Irvine

I'll also take suggestions for college as well as chances...Thanks.

Are you an URM? Race matters a lot in admissions.

No...I'm asian-american, but I might be underrepresented at some of the LACs....and I plan to major in finance (and economics in places that don't have undergrad business).

There's no such thing as "underrepresentation" for Asian-Americans. You're just the average applicant in my opinion, but you stand a good chance at state colleges.

if you're interested in business, why dont you have berkeley on your list? Your stats are probably too low to get into Cal, but you have a lot of other colleges on your list that seem to be reaches for you, so why not Cal? Just wondering.

BELOW Average? I'm not answering this.

futurenyustudent:

UCI/UCD: Match

hey, NYU is a reach with that GPA but do you mind answering how you raised your PSAT scores so much.

I'd say that you have a solid chance at most of the NYU Schools with Stern being a Slight Reach... applying ED will help a lot.

Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, Babson, BU, UCD, UCI -- others are all reaches. Also, where are the sports? That'll hurt at the LACs.

Goldenbear10: I don't have Berkeley on my list because I prefer to go to college on the east coast. I really want to avoid the west coast.

i3asketballboy: i went to a program at Kaplan for a couple months and did a whole bunch of SAT practice tests. I don't think I was commended since I didn't get anything on the matter.

collegeparent: I'm not really big on sports, but I did track for a trimester and also I managed cross country for a trimester. Other than that I did mostly intramural stuff.

"Below Average" defined in CC terms.

Below Average My @$$

Why is USC (and a couple of UCs) on your list if you're trying to avoid the west coast???

And do you plan on applying to all of these schools? Nearly 20 . . .

And you're definately above average, give me a break. Don't make the mistake of defining yourself by CC, the standards on this board are ungodly high.

Wait, chances? I can't evaluate these very well, I just had to make some comments. :P

Why do you have UCI, UCD, and USC if you want to go east coast? Anyway, UCI and UCD will be safeties for you. USC will be a match/slight reach. I cant assess your chances at any of the other schools on your list because i am not familiar with their admissions. sorry.

UCI/UCD: because of instate tuition.

USC: I don't know.

heh uci, ucd ur probally in, i got in with those scores similar to you. For indiana, you will probaly be a direct admit to bschool and probaly get into the honors college. usc i say slight reach as well as nyu in general. stern, georgetown, michigan, uva are reaches. gud luk

Thanks everyone...bumpbumpbump.

since when is this below average? this isnt even average. if it was, you wouldnt consider georgetown.

dammit CC for making great students feel lower

your self esteem is pretty low huh? you are not below average

If refuse to answer stuck up fckers who think this is below average.
