Hi guys,

I'm sure that I don't quite fit the norms for someone posting a chances thread. I'm not applying to any Ivies, I'm not a junior or senior in high school, I didn't do well in high school, and oh- I attend a community college. But nonetheless, I'm trying to get into my dream school and I need to get an idea of what my chances are.

The college that I'm trying to get into is the University of Minnesota. It isn't the most competitive by any means, but it's taking them forever to give me a decision and I need to formulate some sort of back-up plan if you all think my chances are low. So please, tell me how likely you think UMN is to admit me.

Stats
College GPA: 4.0 (43 semester credits)
High School GPA: 3.2 (unweighted, upward trend starting junior year)
High School Rank/Class Size: 179/356 (50th percentile)
ACT: 31 (34 English, 31 Reading, 27 Math, 31 Science)
- About five extracurriculars over the past few years-- no offices held besides being a board member for one of them, though.
- I currently tutor at my school in Chemistry, English, American Sign Language, and Math.

My first choice college/major is College of Biological Sciences/Neuroscience, and my second choice is College of Liberal Arts/Chemistry. My letters of recommendation were written by my Math and Chemistry professors.

Here's where my concern lies:
- My college GPA is certainly higher than the average admitted transfer, but I'm not sure how being at a CC factors into their consideration.
- My ACT score is higher than the average admitted freshman, but my high school GPA and class rank are much lower.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!
