I completed my application to the U on January 31st. Admissions are rolling, and the priority deadline is March 1st (for transfers, of course). There is no official estimate for how long it will take before I receive a decision...and it's driving me crazy! Has anyone here applied as a transfer and received a decision? How long did it take?

Also, I'm terrified that I won't be accepted at all. Do you think I have a shot? Here are my stats:

High School GPA: Unweighted 3.2 -- 50th percentile
College GPA: 4.0 with 47 credits
ACT: 31 -- 34 English, 27 Math, 31 Reading, 31 Science
I'm a Phi Theta Kappa member (honor society) at my college and am also a paid tutor in Chemistry, English, American Sign Language, and Math. I have one or two extracurriculars in addition.

My first choice is CBS (Neuroscience), and my second choice is CLA (Chemistry).

Any help or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm biting my nails here!

I understand if none of you know anything about the waiting time for transfer admissions. But as incoming freshmen, how long did it take for you to receive a decision (even if it was just a postponement)?

And really, does anyone think I have a chance? The U is the only school that I applied to, so if it doesn't seem likely, I should probably go apply for more.

I think you'd better call and see if there is a problem. I got accepted as a transfer over 6 weeks ago with stats not even close to as good as yours.

Forreal? Dang. When did you apply? I was assuming it was just because I didn't send mine in until basically Feb 1st. If you sent yours in very early, they were probably much less swamped with applications then.

At least, that's what I hope the case is. I'm so anxious. :\ I've called, but they just said that "there's no set timeline for transfer admissions; you just have to wait."

Yes it was early when I applied so that may have been why I got it so quickly.

I just talked to two other people who applied. The first one applied late like you, plus missed the deadline for sending in his college transcripts, so technically it was late. However, he found out two weeks ago.

The other person though, had everything in on time but still hasn't heard. So I guess just keep waiting.

What does your online application status say? They have all your materials right?

Seriously? Man. Thanks for letting me know about those other applicants. I talked to my admissions counselor last week and she said that yes, all of my materials were submitted by January 31st, which is the date my application was completed.

It's possible that I've been denied to CBS and it's taking so long because my application has now gone on to be reviewed for CLA. I know my stats are pretty good, but I attend a community college, so there's still a chance they could look down on that. But yeah, I don't really know what else I can do but to wait.

Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow and see an acceptance on my status check, haha.

rollme- how many college credit hours did you have? my boyfriend is applying as a transfer student and he is currently a freshman in college. we are trying to figure out if they have to wait until his year is complete to make a decision. Thanks!
