Oh and I'm Chinese btw (grrr Affirmative Action)

Sooo chances? =]

You have a chance at any. From my experience with lots of other Chinese Floridians, lol, and people in general, Yale/Princeton/Stanford are big reaches, because they just are for everyone, it's not that you aren't qualified.
You'll almost certainly get into at least one of the others, possibly several (not including UF, of course, which I would consider a safety).

Only a few of those schools are likely to give Merit Scholarships, though you would very likely get some at the ones who do. However, the top schools that don't are generally very generous with financial aid, and promise to meet all need. Of course, many a very very intelligent (4.0, national merit, just like you) student from my school decides to go to UF because it's free, and they all enjoy it greatly.

Yale - reach
Amherst - reach
Princeton - reach
Dartmouth - reach
Williams - reach
Stanford - reach
Duke - reach
Emory - match
Vanderbilt - match
UMichigan - match
UFlorida - safety
Rice - semi reach
x]

ok man seriously... 4.0, 2330
you'll get into a few and get rejected from a few you don't need to make a thread for that, only admissions can predict that.

Yale - high reach
Amherst - high match
Princeton - reach
Dartmouth - slight reach
Williams - match
Stanford - high reach
Duke - slight reach
Emory - low match
Vanderbilt - low match
UMichigan - match
UFlorida - safety
Rice - low reach

good chance at all...

thanks! What does low match mean? Like closer to safety or closer to reach? (I'm guessing its the latter)

amazin grades, write good essays and u'll definitely do well

thnx =]

What part of FL? BTW, nothing wrong with Bright Futures. You can do a lot worse for a lot more money. Not to mention i'd kill to go to UF even without Bright Futures.

Low match for me=closer to safety. I might be using the wrong terms. For me, it goes low safety, safety, high safety, low match, match, high match, low reach, reach, high reach.

Lol.

mm thnx for clarifying. that's what i thought at first, but i didn't think those schools would be "close to safeties"

and I live about 30 minutes from Orlando

ook so Altamonte/Winter Springs area?

Lake Mary. So yea, pretty much

Your numbers are fine. Focus on your essay. Spend tons of time on them.

Oh awesome. Someone from your school is going to college with me (assuming you go to LMHS)--Julianne B.

:)

mmm I know her! I had French with her haha. Where are u going?

You're going to YSP? Good work on that...they rejected some fine people this year.

Anyways, as a fellow Floridian, I would think that your scores are pretty good but you might want to work on extracurricular involvement. Also, want doesn't match up is you getting published for writing but have a 730 Writing score for the SAT.
