Chances for a Cornell Fall 2013 Transfer?

Hey all,

I'm currently a freshman at SUNY Geneseo (Political Science, Class of 2016), and I'm very much considering a transfer to Cornell's Arts and Sciences. I applied RD to A&S but got rejected... I'm trying my best to maintain all A's for my first semester (probably around 3.5-3.8, by the end of the semester) and I'm taking five classes (three 100-level, one 200-level, and one 300-level) this coming spring semester.

Born and raised in Ithaca all my life, I went to IHS and graduated with the following stats:

3.35 (unweighted) GPA, 4.0 (weighted) GPA

1800 SAT, 700 Spanish SAT II, 640 Math II SAT II

Four years on a FIRST Robotics Team

Two years on IHS' Red Cross Club Chapter

Began professional photography/videography work my junior year

Cornell's my top school, and getting rejected has not dampened my desire to go there, and hopefully my transfer essays reflect that. What're my chances? Thanks.

Anyone have an idea?

sorry to bear bad news, but I highly doubt you’ll get accepted. Your SATs are very under the range, and so is your GPA.

Basically what OP said. Ivies have very low transfer acceptance rates and because you are applying as a freshman they will look at your high school stats which are just too low…
