Chances for a Friend

My friend is currently a Junior, and earlier he asked me, "what are my chances of getting into the schools I want?" I had NO IDEA how to answer this question, so he gave me permission to put some of his stats on the website, since he doesn't want to make an account.

I'm currently a sophomore, so I'll be back next year!

List:

Colleges considering for: UCB, MIT, Stanford, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon

Cumulative GPA (from 1st Semester Sophomore Year to 1st Semester Junior Year):
3.02 UW/3.24 W

SAT: Not taken yet ACT: Not taken yet

PSAT: 162

AP/Honors Classes:
Sophomore:
AP World History
English 2 Honors

Junior Year:
AP Statistics English 3 Honors
AP US History

He is not taking a Science class for Junior Year and he won't take one for Senior Year.
He is also not taking another Math class for Senior Year.

Extracurriculars:
Right now, I don't think he has any.
He plans to join a Business Club and Math Club next year.

Major pursuing: Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace)

I just have the bare minimum of his profile at the moment. I will add more when people add on to the thread.

haha are you trolling? I can’t imagine someone not taking a science class but applying to engineering; that too for a school like stanford (which, btw, needs 3 science courses to apply).

Somebody is trollin’

yeah, I think so too… ■■■■■ <3

Well, if I was trolling, I would have made it a bit more obvious. Trust me, when I ■■■■■, it is REALLY obvious.

In all seriousness, I’m trying to convince him to take a Science class Senior year to make up for this “lost year”, so for an major in aerospace or mechanical engineering, what Science class should I convince him to take? At our school he can still take AP Bio, Physics (Core or Honors), Physiology (Core or Honors), and AP Chemistry.

Physics. Though the chances are still zero.
