Chances for a Junior?! (NYU)

The first two years of my high school career were under horrible circumstances where i simply could not devote time and attention to school.
(I will write a letter of explanation)

Freshman year: 75
Soph Year: 75
Junior year: 98
Total: 82.6

HS is one of the best in my state, very competetive. I took a heavy courseload.

SAT1: 2320
SATII's: USH: 800 Global: 760 Physics: 710

Good EC's

Assuming good essays and senior year grades, do i have a shot at NYU?

bump .

lol dude get your gpa way up before you apply...scores are good but gpa sucks so get it up

that letter of explanation better be damn good. upward trend might help. if you get rejected, it won't be because of test scores.

Thanks for the replies guys

Anyone else wanna help?

What's your GPA, UW/W?

If you keep up the good grades for the rest of your high school career, I think you definitely have a shot at NYU. NYU will accept people with lower than usual GPA's and if you continue your marked improvement, that's definitely reason enough to consider you. My friend was accepted to NYU (although it was General Studies and she applied ED) with a downward trend and a cumulative GPA of 86, also at an NYU feeder high school.

Good luck
