Hi, this is my first post after reading a lot of other peoples chances and generally freaking out that my grades are not a 4.0 (like more than half of you guys). Sorry about the title (I was just trying to get your attention, and although it is true, I am not arrogant.. I swear).

Okay please chance me for the following colleges:
Georgetown
Yale
Dartmouth
Brown
Princeton
Bowdoin
Middlebury
Bates
Williams

I am a female at one of the top private schools in the country. (about 25% go on to ivies and many more go to many of the top colleges)

Test Scores:
SAT- 2350
ACT-36
Sat II- Math 1- 730 (just took other SAT IIs)

GPA: 87% (I know, it doesnt sound that great but it's important to mention that the valedictorian this year had a 92%).

EC's:
-National Champion of a sport that is at the Olympics, but that is not offered at most colleges. (I won't list it here since it would be pretty easy for anyone to look me up...)
-On National team for same sport and am competing around the world this summer. I spend about 20+ hours a week training for sport.
-Am being recruited for two sports that are offered at most colleges
-Was state winner for National History Day competition and am going to upcoming National leven History Day competition.
-Several state science awards and runner up to Intel science fair.
-Community Service- 100 hours, volunteer at day care for inner city kids

do you really need to ask? you could get into harvard, oxford, all the best schools in the country. You have an amazing shot at every one of those schools. AMAZINGG!!!!!

Haha yes I am quite serious. I was prepared to have all you guys chew me up about my "low" gpa which corresponds to a 3.3 or thereabouts. I've read a bunch of chance threads with gpas around 3.4 where the person is being told that they will never get into an "elite" college because of their dismal gpa.

Good GPA in context of school + Excellent test scores + athletic recruit = pretty darn good chances.

If you know clearly which school is your first-choice (and if financial aid is not a big issue), apply early. Just to make your life less stressful.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm still trying to figure out what safety schools I should look at this summer...any suggestions? Also, are any of the schools on my list matches or are they all reaches?

Vanessa- I can't get recruited for the sport that I am a national champion in because only very very few colleges have the sport and I am not interested in any of those colleges.

ok im dying to know lol.. pm the sport.. and for proof that im not a stalker or child-molester then just look at my last couple of posts (in high school too.. 10th grader)

A lot of schools, esp those she's looking at have fencing programs. I really do think it's curling. I don't know about Table Tennis, maybe. It could be canoe/kayak too. Or one of the winter sports. Too many possibilities.
