Hey everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a Junior currently but I'm spending my senior year abroad in Ukraine with Rotary so I'm starting on my applications earlier than most. I was wondering what my chances were for the following schools: NYU (first choice by far), Haverford, Reed, Vassar, and Swarthmore.

I'm a white male from south Pennsylvania.

SAT scores:
Reading - 710
Writing - 680
Math - 530

Have only taken the SATs once. I'm taking an SAT class and retaking them shortly after, so hopefully my math will be much higher then.

GPA: around 3.6-3.75
I got an F first semester of my Freshman year, but all A's and B's besides that. My Sophomore year, I got all A's and B's except a C first semester. This year, I've gotten all A's.

I've only taken AP English and AP World History, but first semester this year I took a religion course at Gettysburg College. I only audited the class, but the professor graded me the same way as all of the other students and I had one of the top grades in the class.

Extracurricular activities:
Rotary Youth Exchange - Ukraine for my senior year
Orchestra - with private cello lessons (Freshman - Junior year). I'm the first chair in the school orchestra
Amnesty International
Chess Club
Volunteer on local judicial race
Boy Scouts

And starting last summer, I've been working summers picking apples for Rice Fruit Company

Awards:
Scholastic Gold Key (short story)

Would it help my chances at NYU to apply ED?

Thank you very much for any input :)
