Chances for a transfer

I'm currently a sophomore at George Washington majoring in Political Science.

I went to an above average high school in the Northeast and had about a 3.45 (unweighted) had a few honors/AP classes, but nothing TOO rigorous. Graduated around 40-something out of a class out of 260+, and I think I made or just missed the top 15%. I was a bit unmotivated in high school until junior year.

*Of note, I improved my GPA every year from Freshman to Senior year, and I'm even doing the same in college as a continuation from high school.

I got a 26 or 27 on the ACT but that number is deceiving because I got a 20 or 21 on the Science portion (sorry, this way well over 2.5 years ago, so it's hard to remember these numbers). I did have a perfect score (12/12) on the essay portion however. I opted not to take the SAT.

I had a 5 on the AP US History test (the only real non-science AP course my school offered) and got a 780 on the SAT II US History test.

I had mediocre EC's, including young republicans (with leadership positions all 3 years), won an essay contest, community service, work after school, etc. Certainly nothing special.

Now for College:
Fall Freshman Year: 3.68 (Dean's list)
Spring Freshman Year: 3.81 (Dean's list)
Fall Sophomore Year: 3.84 (Dean's List)
This semester I currently would have all A's for my classes (Cornell requires a midterm report).

Some EC's during college:

Freshman:
Treasurer of my dorm
Community Service (50+ hours)
2 Clubs

Sophomore
President of my dorm
Intern for the McCain Campaign
2 Clubs

My main choices are:

Notre Dame
Cornell
Wake Forest
Northwestern

Can you guys give me my chances?

can someone please help?

anyone, please?

Seeing as how your a sophomore, your HS stats will not be that influential. Your college grades are fine, but your EC's are below-average in comparison with other students applying to those schools. Make sure your teacher rec letters are top-notch (get teachers who know you as well as possible) and focus ENTIRELY on your essays. For someone in your position, your essays will make or break your app. Also, if there is time, try and expand your ECs by getting as involved with your school as possible. Of all the schools you listed, none of them seem to be a sure thing based on the info you gave, but you certainly could get in. I would, however, reccomend applying to a safety school just in case (if you really can't stand your current school that is). Hope this helps.
