i strongly advise against applying to all 17 schools you listed; that's too many...

I'm in the same boat as you. Since I got rejected due to the crapshoot that is high level admissions, I'm going to play their game. Apply to enough schools I'm qualified to apply to, and assuming 10% odds of admittance, at the end of it all I'll have acceptances to 2-3 Ivy/basically Ivy schools. Checkmate. Booyakasha. 18 Schools go!

enjoy your weekend and mon and tues doing apps timur

They become fun after you break the 10 essay barrier.

hey stam

your SAT scores are obviously not the problem, and your rank seems to be fine. academically you seem to have everything and to me your "projects" are quite impressive. however, i've noticed that alot of the people who have gotten rejected share similiar traits with you. the problem i think is everyone who was definately overqualified but rejected tried too hard. many who got rejected sent in videos, tapes, dvds, etc... perhaps it was the way you wrote your essay and the way you portrayed yourself to the admissions committee?

but don't let penn discourage you or the rejection for that matter. if you were able to set up this golf tournament thing as a teen, imagine what you can do in the future. if anything, you dont need penn, you just need a respectable education and several other schools can provide you with that. i've always believed that if you're good, then you'll always be good and nothing can change that. and in this case i think you're good.

good luck with everything else and hope you get into your top school choice.

hmm i did send some extra stuff about the golf tournament, but no video or anything.

"perhaps it was the way you wrote your essay and the way you portrayed yourself to the admissions committee?"

I think this may have been the problem...everyone loved my essays, but maybe they thought I was cocky or something. Could've easily been the GPA/rank on its own though...

I was sorry to read about your Penn decision. It seems that you are really interested in community service and I hope that you do apply to Dartmouth (as you will find a lot of like minded people).

Even if you don't I still think you will have some wonderful acceptances come april

Don't worry dude, I'm sure you get into at least some of the schools you applied to including all the UCs.

you should add NYU Stern to your list. Highly regarded school for business and I'm pretty sure with your impressive stats, wont have problem getting in.
