I'm a female junior from the suburbs of Memphis, TN. I attend a public school that's ranked in Newsweek's Top 100 High Schools. The colleges I'm interested in are Rhodes, Vandy, Rice, U of Alabama, UT Knox, Emory, Ole Miss, UT Chat.

AWARDS (this area seems lacking...)

1st and 2nd Place in Literature Contest freshman year
AP Scholar

I also have a job that I absolutely love at a place called Mathnasium. I tutor children (in math obviously) in grades K-12. I know this job takes away from time I could spend volunteering (Rhodes seems huge on volunteer exp.), but I couldn't imagine quitting. Also, I'm being promoted to Lead Instructor soon, and I'll be the youngest to ever become one (most of my coworkers are in college or beyond).

My first choice is definitely Rhodes right now. It's beautiful, small, close to home, and has a good reputation. I won't qualify for need based aid, but I'd feel bad making my parents pay a lot when I know I could go to other schools for free. So I'd also like to know my chances for merit aid at the aforementioned schools. And any other suggestions would be welcome, too, because most of my friends think I'm aiming too low.

And I'm highly interested in a math or math/econ major.
