I decided to apply ED at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. If I don't get accepted there I'll probably apply regular to Ole Miss and Millsaps College. But mostly I'm hoping I get accepted at Rhodes. I think they accept around 51% of applicants, so it's fairly competitive.

So anyway, about me. I'm a HS Senior from a small private academy in Tunica, Mississippi. I have a 3.94 GPA and am a lock to graduate as valedictorian. I took the hardest curriculum available and am Student Council President, Beta Club President, Class Treasurer, Knowledge Bowl President, and a member of the Green Club. I was selected as a Boys State and HOBY delegate as well. I scored a 26 on my ACT last fall. I know that's a bit low, but I loathe that test and refuse to take it again. I made a 31 in Reading and a 30 in English, but a 20 in Math bogged me down. I went for a campus visit and I think my interview went really well.

I feel like I have an okay shot at getting in there. I hope so at least. It's definitely my top choice by a mile. What do you think?

If the interview went well, then yes you have a good chance.

How did you do on your math classes? If you did well (and with a 3.94 GPA I presume you did well), then that would make up for your bad ACT Math score. If not so well, then that might hurt your chances there.

Sounds like you are probably in, though. The competition at Rhodes is tough, but not all that tough that a valedictorian like you shouldn't be accepted.

I've done pretty well in Math classes. I made a B here and there in Algebra I and II, but my year averages were both As. I did really well in Geometry and had a 96 for the year. This year I'm taking Pre-Cal and I have a 95 for the first quarter. Math is just not my strong suit. For me, in Math, it really depends on how good the teacher is.

As I was reading through other threads (much more impressive than mine lol) I noticed a lot put their ethnicity/class. I'm a white American from a working class family. I'm a liberal Episcopalian, which kind of made me want to apply to Sewanee, but it's just too in the middle of nowhere.
