Hi,

my name is Nima. I
m a German-Iranian who studies at Tehran International School in Iran (10th grade). You are all so experienced. I
d really like to ask you whether I have a choice of being admitted by Princeton University.
My average for the 1st term was 100 % ( meaning, 100% in every single subject as well as behaviour).
I do sport activities as well as a lot of social work in order to help and support the poorer citizens of Iran.
I know 6 languages (English,German,Farsi,French,Spanish,Italian) and I
m studying Arabic at the moment. Also, I am the head of the journalists of our school-newspaper.
Next year, I am in the student
s council and there`s a great chance I might be elected president.
I will receive my high school diploma (NO IB or AP, normal diploma) in 2 years and after that I will take my SAT exams .
Shall I apply? Is there a chance of being admitted at all?

It sounds like you'd have a pretty good chance. 100% is REALLY impressive, but I think they only really care about rank. If your school doesn't offer AP/IB, that will not be held against you. If you have the opportunity to take advanced classes, go for it. It also sounds like SAT will play an important part in showing them how your school compares to others around the world. 6 languages is very impressive though. Keep working!

Definitely apply. No chance in not taking a shot when you're a good student.

You definitely seem to have something different to offer.
I mean, I don't know, but how many German-Iranians who speak 6 languages apply to Princeton?
But maybe it may add to your application if you have significant strength/interest/passion in some particular subject/field.
Other than that, really carve up the SATs to add reliability to your 100% marks and you hopefully will have a good chance.

Regards

Thank you all very much. You
ve given me a lot of hope.
Actually, I
m training myself for the SAT
s now, hopefully everything will go well. I
m very passionate in voluntary hospital work.
My school actually does offer IB,but since it
s pretty expensive, my parents can
t afford to send me to IB. We have all the necessary documents to prove that to Princeton University.
Anyhow; thank you very much for your replies.

Best regards,

Nima
