chances for an asian idiot to HYPs and other colleges?

<p>New Immigrant in the US for 2 years
Sex:Female
Ethnic:Asian
Parents:dish-washers and cleaners in a filthy, stuffy restaurant (so i'll be first generation college student)
School:High School Early College in nyc; i'm sure it's among top 15 in the city</p>

<p>Classes: 2 years of high school courses and 2 years of college courses (no AP courses offered in our school)
GPA:3.6
Rank:8/60 (rather small class in such an enormous city)</p>

Receptionist and TA in a tutoring center for 2 years</p>

Piano players for 12 years; Piano Grading Level 8
Join 2 school clubs;treasurer in one of them
Help with a project on economy at NYU
Conduct a survey at a local clinic
Translator for a bilingual newspaper in New England Area</p>

<p>I know my extracurricular is weak because it's very difficult for someone growing up speaking another language, and staying in an utterly alien city for merely 2 years to accomplish much in one night. Anyway, for people like me, going to a eminent college is almost the only way to change our lives. </p>

<p>So I want to know my chances to be admitted to HYP, Northwestern, Uchicago, Cornell, NYU and Barnard?</p>

<p>i agree with what pinkslip has said, but my question is… how are you going to afford it? You won’t able to get student loans as an immigrant correct?</p>

<p>thanks to your comment Herman Yoopzel. I’ll be able to get student loans as an immigrant but still I hope to get as much scholarship as I can because my family has been in a difficult situation for a few years.</p>
