uhh we've got no stats to base any chances on...

sorry, the thing wouldn't let me post anything

You're a great applicant with excellent grades and extracurricular activities. I'm guessing that you would get into AT LEAST cornell and have a high chance for HYPS etc.

Slight Reach: (just because it is for everyone)
Stanford (EA), Harvard, Yale, Princeton

Match/High Match:
Georgetown, Cornell: CAS, Brown, UPenn, UCB

Low Match:
JHU, UCSD (oos), UCLA (oos)

Safety:
Wheaton College - Illinois, Pepperdine, UMCP

thanks for that.. any more chances?

is this a joke? how the hell r u gonna self study all those. 25 ap's taken total? is it just me or is that like a world record? if this is real, theres no way u dont get into everywhere u apply, and i refuse to believe any posters saying nonsense like HYPS are a reach for every1, bc if ur real, this is the most impressive application ive ever seen. i highly doubt this is though

I assure you, it is real. 25 APs is just tentative. I still have yet to take the AP German and AP Japanese exam. And its not 25 its actually ~23.

Also, why don't you take a look at Masterus, who has like 7 APs even before sophomore year and apparently knows all the romance languages.

It IS possible.

i dont see how you can do all those ec's. maybe i am just an "underachiever" :)

bump..... Chances por favor. Also, if anyone can give me advice on what to fill those two places in senior year with :-D

voyala_college:

UCB/UCLA: Safe Match (out of state)
UCSD: Safety (out of state)

Awesome stats man. lol, in don't understand how you could have learned: English, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, German, French...

Well let's see: Taking into consideration the growing competition for this year ...

Chance: Prediction

Stanford (EA)___Slight Reach: Accept
Harvard
__Slight Reach: Waitlist/Accept
Yale
_____Slight Reach: Waitlist/Reject
Princeton
_Slight Reach: Waitlist/Reject

__________Safety: Accept

As predicted, i think you'll get into at least ONE of the HYPS (no garuntees) oftentimes its a crapshoot.

Just by looking at your academics, I kinda get the feeling that you're doing most of these things to get into college, not for pure enjoyment of learning. It seems like you've planned your four years of high school, your courses, what AP classes to take, number of volunteer hours.... Plus, why are you putting TASP if it hasn't happened yet? Have you been accepted there? I don't mean to bash your credentials because they're awesome stats wise. But looking at all those AP courses, activities, etc, I understand what MIT dean of admissions Marilee Jones is saying about stressed out high schoolers losing their sense of "childhood imagination." I just really doubt that you can truly spend time, appreciate and love your activities being so overscheduled with AP classes. Again, if you actually are achieving all these things, way to go!

There are numerous things you still need to tell us that are important. First of all, what type of school do you go to. I would guess some magnet school because of the number of APs avilable. What state are you in. What is your class rank. What do you get on all of these AP exams.

1) State is listed on there: MD
2) No ranking but the class size is ~700-800
3) I don't go to a magnet school, competitive public high school
4) AP Exams: I really don't want to list them all (70%) but I got 5s on all except for a few 4s (30%).

What county in Maryland?

Scout213,

I will disclose the EXACT location but ill narrow it down to Baltimore/Howard/Frederick.

^ haha. Edit: I will NOT disclose the exact location (proofreading errors) lol.

ohmygosh, why does everyone load up so much on APs? My school offers a lot and I didn't take anywhere near the total, and still got into a selective school. A bunch of kids in my class overloaded APs and ended up getting stressed out and bogged down with work. The couple of "us" (near the top-ish of our class) who didn't still ended up getting in early. So...DON'T WORRY about what classes to take next year. You do NOT need 23 APs to get into HYPS, I promise. You seem to like politics and martial arts...do more of those and less of studying for classes your college won't even give you credit for (I'm assuming you'll get into at least one HYPS, and they just give placement...and then only for some tests...bummer). Anyway, chill out, enjoy the rest of high school, and good luck!!!

FYI 25 APs is possible and real. A kid at my school (I know his brother) recently graduated from UVA in one year because of the insane amount of APs he took in high school along with overloading his schedule like crazy his one year of college. It was in the post a while ago... Crazy kid.
