One strange fact: Technically I am an plumbing apprentice. I could get my journeyman's before I go to college. Hey, women plumbers get paid at lot of money. =] Haha.

I am looking to major in psychology or sociology. Want to go on to law so I can one day grow up to do something in children's rights.

are you a junior or senior? (if senior, when did you apply?)

Junior. That's why I don't have my SATs yet. The activities for senior year are assuming that I'll continue (and I will)

Your pretty much a lock for UMich. :)

you're definitely in.
and your 3 bs for freshman year dont matter to UM, because they only look at sophomore and junior year grades (initially {meaning they look at senior year grades in case of deferral or just after school is done})
and your ECs are not weak at all.
i got in (although i had a leadership position) with just playing varsity lacrosse in the spring, winning an all state award, making captain, church and youth group, and some art awards.

That plumbing thing rang a bell with me. I looked back at the list of scholarships I had gone over for my daughter's search and recalled one for you. When you apply to UMich check out the Gordon J. Andrew scholarship, it is for a student connected to plumbing industry. I'll bet it is one that you would qualify for, and for which there may not be a lot of competition.

first of all, plumbing??? very random unless its a family thing.

its a match tho. how did you maintain a 3.89 if you got 3 b's? i got a 3.82 with no b's or b+'s

It's a family thing. My dad used to own his own company but he was in a very bad car accident a few years back. He was the only employee and could no longer physically do the work. So his good friend came to work for him and as soon I was old enough to work I became an apprentice. I have enough knowledge and experience to become a journeyman for plumbing and electrician but I'm not old enough. I would just become a trades-woman except my parents won't let me, they want me to go to college. Me, I will hate working at a desk or something. It's funny when I show up for jobs and catch people off guard. They just assume I'm a tag along and then they realize that I work harder then the guys.

I had a total of 4 b's from freshman year until the end of junior year. That's my projected gpa through this semester because I will get all a's, my classes are easy for me. The only thing I ever got b's in was spanish. Yuck.

Thanks for the scholarship info too. I can't find anything about it though. I'll look again.

Nevermind, I spelled Gordon wrong. =]
