chances for an out of stater

i live in ohio and am dying to go to college in california, what are my chances of getting in to any school possibly this one if i recieve a 25-30 act score with good EC's?

what's your GPA?

my gpa should end up around 3.5, i go to a very challenging catholic private schools, lots of kids throughout the years have gotten into notre dame so thats why its so low

Well for outer of staters who want to go to a UC, the minimum GPA required is 3.4. Is the 3.5 your UC GPA or school GPA? find that out first.

but even for the lower tiers it could be tough to get in. since you're out of state, I'd say around a 25-26 ACT should get you in.

so you have to get a 3.4 or else they dont even look at you? thats tough, i go to a really competitive private school that going to be tough

also, is the minimum gpa required for a cal state school also 3.4 or is it lower?

for cal state it's much lower, i think it's something like 2.5 but don't hold me to that.

also, i don't know if they won't even look at you. i guess just try to compensate for it with a better ACT score and hope for the best.

thanks im only a junior so i have some time to improve on sat/act scores but thank you

being a junior you also have time to improve your gpa... :D

Just a note, OOS entry into the UCs is VERY competitive. So you're gonna have to do a little bit better than a 3.5
