Hotchkiss…nope sorry haha. I didn’t apply to Hotchkiss but I’ve heard it’s nice…

Thanks anyways!

Just warning you, andover over enrolled this year (85% yield as opposed to the previous 79%), so it will make next year’s spots even harder to attain. My suggestion is to find somthing you are truly passionate about and STATE IT!!! Admissions loge passion because it show commitment and altitude on the subject. And honestly, not to sound cruel or anything, but don’t expext garunteed acceptance just because you’re international ir that you have good grades. Admissions is a crapshot, and it comes down to many factors that culminate to the AOs decision. Just be open to the possible choices that may arise. Also, be prepared to answer these two questions: how do you think you will benefit from a x school experience, and why you would choose x school?

hi i’ve applied to Berkshire, Hotchkiss, St Andrews, St Georges, Deerfield, St Pauls, Taft (told highly unlikely). Im applying as a late applicant. I really like the look of Berkshire and Hotchkiss but I just wanted to get your opinions on the liklyhood of me getting a place. I know that ive lowered my chances quite a bit cause of applying late and spaces but if there were this is my resume:

A’s and A* grades we take 10 exams in my country. I do many extra curricular activities: singing, art, drama, sports lacrosse (1sts) and raced in skiing. i love the arts performing and visual arts and my aim of going is to 1) help me get to a good US uni and 2) cultural experience AMAZING opportunities. (sorry thats not really my resume just a description. Do you think I have any chance??

Are you currently enrolled at Andover? And if so, what made you pick Andover over the other schools?

I think you have a pretty good chance but as you know the number of asians, especially chinese, are increasing extremely rapidly so it would be hard to predict. luckily I got in this year.
question, when you said you were applying as an 8th grader do you mean applying for 9th grade when your an 8th grader or applying for 8th grade?

Yes i am a current student at andover and what made me choose the school was the fact that it “fit”’ . For me, andover offered both academic and athletic rigour to suit me, along with being very liberal, modern, and close knit. The revisit days to the schools i got into (DA and PA) really made the difference.

Applying for 9th grade.

hey swimdude006, what do you think is the chance of me getting in andover, exeter, milton, lawrenceville, hills, mercersburg or north field mount hermon? just say the schools you know. thank you.

academics: i get grades a little higher than average

I’ve also represented my school in various Math competitions against other international schools in Japan, and have always scored much better than those in my school, and also in comparison with people all around the globe.

Hey fellow Japanese! I’m Japanese too :)

Trust me, at Exeter (where I am now a senior!), there are no Japanese people. You have amazing credentials and we WANT more kids from Japan so APPLY APPLY APPLY!

is it too late to reply biancastarflare??? I never believed in these chance forums, but what I can give you some advice if that would help :D. Just stay true to yourself. The admissions office wants to see the real you, and will know if you are trying to be phony. Show your strengths with flying colors, and really emphasise what you want to continue at X school and what you think you can contribute. It really shows if you are genuine and nice (interview). In your essay, don’t be so serious, but relax a bit. show some humor, be satirical, make them laugh! be memorable! and don’t let prep admissions be the end of you. Focus on your essays, interview, and grades and you will have a shot at wherever you’re applying to. good luck!!
