Chances for BC, Penn, Syracuse, BU, UVM?

Hi everyone!

I'll be a senior this fall, and I'm starting to freak out a little bit, wondering if my credentials are enough. My first choice is Boston College, but I'll also be applying to Penn and Cornell (I'm assuming those are reaches), and Syracuse, BU, Holy Cross, and UVM (match/safeties).
What do you think about my chances for BC especially, but really any of my schools?? Also, do you think I should apply EA to BC or could that hurt me?

Thanks!
I'll chance you back :D

GPA: 3.9
SAT: 2130/2400 or 1420/1600
SAT II: not taken yet, projected math - high 600s, bio - 700ish
All honors classes (my school doesn't have any APs)
English - 4 years
Math - 4 years including Calculus
French - 5 years
Science - 4 years

ECs
varsity lacrosse (this year I'll be captain), varsity soccer, skiing (not competitively) ceramics, photography, voice, lifeguard, EMT (I will be; I'm taking the class this fall), class social chair, elected member of my school's social council

My recommendations are excellent, don't know yet about my essay (I should be writing it now, but I'm procrastinating :)

I want to be premed, majoring in sociology, anthropology, psychology, or human development.

If I'm missing anything let me know!

Thank you guys!

Oh, also I’m a white girl living in Massachusetts (which my advisor says will hurt me, but I can’t really do anything about it  )

I have double legacy at Cornell; both my parents went there.
My mom went to Penn for grad school, I don’t know if that helps anything…

Penn and Cornell are low/mid reaches. You are definitely qualified for both though. IMO you have a solid shot at Boston College.

Good luck!

WEll, your ECs are weak. It looks like you included a lot of your hobbies (non-competitive skiing, ceramics, et.); don’t put your hobbies it looks silly. There is also a somewhat lack of leadership, which hurts when applying to Ivys. That being said you have a shot at the other schools. Good luck.

Chance me: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/957028-chance-please.html

IS that GPA weighted or unweighted?

unweighted, my school doesn’t weight

Maybe Cornell as a legacy, but you would need to apply ED.

Your advisor is right, you’re a girl from a wildly overrepresented state. Lots of BC applicants from MA and they just keep getting harder to get into. It could go either way there.

your unweighted GPA and SATs are fine for everything but Cornell and Penn. As you said those are a reach. BC/HC could go either way… Those two schools look closely at your EC’s. Your in at 'Cuse and UVM.
