my grades are good and I never had a c or below in my life - all honors classes
my essay is phenomenal
I have many tech ideas that I would bring and they really loved that idea
my interviews went so well probably the best I ever had
My ssat - 737 math 712 vocab 653 reading - 2102 74%
I do many clubs from art, speech, and debate
and I have a lot of community service
I don’t know how will I get in though because my SSAT is not that great. Does anyone know my chances?
It is so, so hard to say. Admissions are never guaranteed and now that everything is submitted, it’s best to just wait until M10. I know it’s hard to have the decision be out of your control (I drove myself crazy in the weeks leading up to M10) but it’s best to just wait.
I’m a student at Berkshire, so if you have any questions about the school (either before or after M10), feel free to pm me!
Thanks for the feedback, Berkshire is a great school and I feel like I have chance their but im going to wait till March 9th. also, how many 9th graders applying and how many new sophomores get in?
I’m not sure what the breakdown is for how many kids apply for each grade but in total I think there were 1,300 applicants. I’m also not sure how many are accepted, since schools don’t thpicaly release that info. I know that Berkshire aims for about 50-60 freshman to come and for about 50 sophomores to come.
Schools often tell how often they’ve gone to their WL in the decision letter. If not, you can get that info from the school, though don’t expect immediate answers, as the AOs and staff are now aggressively working to secure those students that they’ve accepted. You can learn how the WLs work in general by reading through the Waitlist thread. It will become very active today. The positive comments in that thread are far more useful than the negative ones. Good luck!
I also got waitlisted at Middlesex. I think that Berkshire accepts a lot of sophomores and which I believe at least 10-15 kids go to other places. Anything I should do besides wait?
Okay- got it. Email your WL schools, but don’t rush it or write anything while you’re feeling down or discouraged. You have time to breathe a little bit and think about what you want to say, so look at it as an opportunity to make a final statement. Is Berkshire your first choice? Will you definitely attend if you’re offered a spot?
Make sure they know it. Accepting a place on a WL should never be War and Peace or longer than a few sentences . Go over it with a parent and make each and every word count. You’ve got this, but take some time right now and decompress… Maybe knock it out of the park Monday or Tuesday when you’re feeling better.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out anytime .
Thank you, I will certainly do it in a few days. Thanks for the help. This is my second year trying to go to a boarding school and currently in a private school.
