Thank You!!!

Everything besides MIT and Stanford I think you have a very good chance

Some guy i know made it to Carnegie Mellon with very very similar stats as you (2120 sat/3.85 gpa/2xAIME)
And for something like WashU, since its obsessed with yield, im pretty sure that you are exactly the type they are looking for...

I think if you had made USAMO in one of those 4 AIME years I think you would have a good chance at MIT

sweet thanks...i'm thinking about retaking the SAT, because the current one (my 2nd time actually) does not match up with the ACT score at all...what do you think about my current SAT score?

anyone else?

A 4.0 UW is ranked 40th at your school?
Something doesn't add up.

well, the GPA given by the school is somewhere around 3.97 or 3.98, because I've had 5 A-'s out of 42 given grades (the rest are A's). I think i read somewhere that UW in Michigan means that everything above 90 counts as an A? if that's the case, then my A- shouldn't penalize me...I think.

So that means roughly 10% the class (at least) hasnt received a grade below an A.....................anyways, you have a great shot at Umich, Carnegie, and below. You have a good shot at Washu if you show a lot of interest. MIT and Stanford are reaches.

i'm starting to lean away from WashU...because of its competitiveness, pr iciness, and lack of my desired major. What I really want is get into Umich with reasonable amount of financial support( my parents agreed to put out ~7k a year.) Prospective?

Your best shot is Umichigan AA, and maybe Carnegie Mellon. MIT and Stanford are high reaches for you. Gd luck.

sounds good to me. most of the schools listed, like the higher and lower end ones, are for in case i get unlucky and is not able to attend umaa, but am lucky enough to get into those schools. Else i would use them for bargaining for umaa. does bargaining with colleges work? also comments on my sat vs act?

You don't need to send both SAT & ACT. You can just send your best score.
