Essays - I can nail the CAS supplement essay as my dream of majoring in biology or physics started very early

My main essay will highlight why my freshman and sophomore year are low and not up to par with my later performance

The standardized testing is the big thing that stands out. Get a decent prep books and you’ll probably be getting higher scores in those SAT sections. Also, since you’re applying to CAS you’ll have to take 2 SAT II’s in November if you’re applying ED (December latest for RD). Since you’ve done AP U.S., it’s subject test shouldn’t be too much of an issue with knowledge of the right material; although you may be better served doing Biology E/M. As for the other test, you should probably do one of the two math ones. Be sure to adequately prepare yourself for those exams.

That main essay topic deserves some caution. Your care about academics is likely going to show up in the supplement essay anyway, but you also want to differentiate yourself from the numbers of other applicants. I can’t recall the Common Application prompts, but a lot of them give ample opportunity to show how unique you are. Take full advantage of that in convincing admissions officers.

If you do ED and you take SAT II in November it will be sent to the college?

Yes, but the SAT has to be done in October. Also, it is you, not the College Board, that has to send the scores. You can do it during the exam, but otherwise, you can send them from the College Board’s website with charges.

I forgot about my sat 2’s, I got 800 on USH, 710 on Biology, and 700 on math 1

I didn’t know you can send scores during the exam. I thought you had to get your scores first, THEN send them.

I don’t think the November SAT nor SAT II scores will be distributed by the Cornell ED deadline, correct? They’ll only count for the RD. I remember the SAT scores typically take about four or so weeks to arrive, so it’ll go definitely go past the early December-ish deadline for ED.

Also, I always thought that you had to have the SCORES for the SAT II’s for submission to get considered for ED, not simply just having taken them.
