Hello, I'm currently in 8th grade in thai public school. I'm in gifted sciences and math program and top 3 of class (~3.98 gpa). I already took ssat and got 80% .. I plan to take it again soon. Probably not gonna apply this year but next year instead. I also take part in science exhibition. Also, I'm in school soccer team. Probably need financial aid (but not much).

anyone???

How much is “not much” FA? Int’l students are generally expected to be fullpay cash cows.

As an in’l applicant, unless u have a strong hook (e.g., elite talent or athletic ability, or under-represented country like Tanzania) or unusual circumstance (war orphan), it is unlikely u will get FA, because it is mostly reserved for domestic applicants. If the school cannot award u FA, and it feels u cannot afford to enroll w/o it, then it will not offer u admission, regardless of whether u are domestic or int’l.

A lot of schools visit Bangkok to recruit, so there will be several Thai applicants. U will be competing against your countrymen/women.

actually, my family can afford full tuition but it will put my parents in quite tight situation. i don’t want to trouble them too much; i want to get some FA.

I don’t think you are hearing the message. Unless u have some incredible hook, as an int’l applicant, if u can’t pay, u aren’t going to be admitted. Having good grades and some soccer participation will not be enough for an int’l applicant to garner FA.

Why would any school give u FA if u can afford it, but just don’t feel like spending your own money? Lots of domestic, middle class families are stretching their finances to pay, so why do u expect privileged treatment on the other side of the world? It’s not like there is a shortage of fullpay thai applicants competing to get in.

i won’t apply FA, happy now? thank you for your comments by the way
