And this year i've been training for a half-marathon by myself, if that counts for anything
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: White
Hooks: First generation college student, female in engineering? (Doubt that these are hooks anymore though)
Recommendations: Great, for the most part
Essays: Pretty good

Are my chances significantly better ED?

Of course they are significantly better. But only do it if it is undoubtedly your first choice. You should have a good chance either way as a female with good stats in engineering. Good luck!

Is the 680 in chemistry particularly weak?

Daughter got into CAS ED also with a 680 in chem, 33 ACT (34 if they supercore), 750 math 2, same GPA as you. She was also worried about that one score but it worked out for her.

Was she going into something chemistry related? That’s why I am concerned, but that is a bit relieving

She’s undecided in the college of arts and sciences and it’s possible she may major in chem! She would’ve retaken it but ran out of time. To answer your question, yes, a 680 is a bit weak. But it can be overlooked if the rest of your application is strong.

Thanks so much for the input! I’m just worried that I’ll score lower when I retake it, so I’m wondering if it’s even worth taking again /-:

Then just focus on your upcoming ACT and your essays. One subject test of 680 won’t keep them from admitting you if they want to admit you. I definitely wouldn’t retake if you’re not confident you’d improve. Spend your energies elsewhere. And best of luck.
