Supplemental information:
-My school only offers five AP classes, three of which I took, and the other two of which I could not take due to scheduling conflicts.
-To clarify for those not from New York State, SUNY Oswego is a state college.

Also, I’ll note that my school has around 1600 students total, but rarely sends students to top schools. Maybe 1 or 2 each year go to an Ivy, and then it’s usually Cornell.

very good SAT score and SAT II scores, strong ECs, and good class rank. Which colleges are you applying to?

ED to Columbia, already accepted to Drexel.

Also:
NYU
Sarah Lawrence
Syracuse
Ithaca
Stony Brook U (safety)
SUNY Oswego (safety)
Marymount Manhattan (safety)

Considering your high SAT and excellent ECs, I think you will definitely get into Columbia

Other opinions?

You don’t have much of a chance at Columbia. Columbia accepts 11% of applicants, if you want to go to an Ivy, you may be able to get into Penn, and definitely Cornell. I hope this helps, as I’m trying to be helpful, not nice. Still apply, and good luck, I hope you get in!

^Actually, assuming you’re applying to the college, Columbia accepted 8.9% of last year’s applicants. Given that you’ve already applied, and that you seem to have a strong application (which I assume you already know), I suggest you relax and enjoy your senior year. It’s now all out of your control, so why not just wait and see?

Poland is smoking, haha. You are a great applicant for Columbia. Amazing SAT scores, amazing class rank. Great ec’s. Don’t see what your missing. I’d say you have honestly a 70% chance of getting in. Good luck!

Your chances for ANY school in the country are terrific…I’m guessing that Poland is trying to either make you anxious, or pretend that he/she knows something the rest of us don’t know. BTW, Columbia is not more necessarily more prestigious than Penn or Cornell. I got into Harvard, Yale, Penn, and Brown, but waitlisted at Cornell and Columbia. Your stats are amazing…congrats!!!

You’re definitely very competitive for Columbia! I’m not sure about the other ones, but I’d almost venture to say that NYU is a safety for you. Good luck! :D

Your EC’s are good, not great. But your rank and scores should give you a solid chance at acceptance.

Your scores and grades are great, but you lack a hook. If you focus your ECs, I’d say you have a great chance at admissions to Columbia.

Chance back?

You have a real shot. They want some representation from upstate and your stats make you a strong contender.

Thanks for everyone’s opinions. Anyone else?

I think you have a real good shot! I hope we will see each other next year!

thanks! I hope so too!

anyone else?

Early decision acceptance rate: 23.1%

This is to contradict what other people said earlier. While the RD acceptance rate should be lower than ED, this should give you more hope for acceptance.

Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I’m applying ED. I didn’t want to commit anywhere for financial reasons, but I love Columbia and statistically the chances of being accepted ED are better than if I’d waited for RD.
