Getting into Columbia is about more than just AP classes, but by not taking them earlier it put you behind other candidates. If you try really hard and get good test scores like 2200+ you got a shot.
can you chance me?

With just this information to go on, Columbia is unlikely. If you could post some more info such as GPA, SATs, ECs etc. I could get a more accurate picture. If you manage to stand out enough to make up for your lack of APs you do still have a chance.
Thanks

Don’t have SAT scores yet, I haven’t even taken the PSAT yet.

Here are some of my EC’s:

-Jazz Band (10-12)
-Tech Crew (11-12)
-(so far) about 20 hrs. community service
-Full Orchestra (11-12)
-might join a couple sports teams later in the year (track, tennis, etc.)

GPA right now is a 3.9 UW and about a 4.01 W

If you haven’t taken the PSAT yet, it’s definitely too early for us to chance you. Try to score at LEAST 2100 on the SAT, that’s all I can say for now. Just keep working hard, and post another chance thread after your junior year grades are tabulated.

Good luck!

It all depends on your school. Some schools dont even offer APs. If your school only offers APs to seniors, then you should be fine. For Columbia, it’s more than just APs and SATs. You need that x-factor, something extra. Many people with perfect or near perfect SAT/ACT scores, with bunch of APs, get rejected all the time. Try to get at least a 2100, as one member said above, and do something that you love that you can show the colleges that will wow them. That’s my best advice.
