Chances for Cornell & Carnegie Mellon?!

Hi! I'm a first year female electrical & computer engineering major at the Rutgers New Brunswick School of Engineering. I'm going to try to transfer into Cornell or Carnegie Mellon for Fall 2013 and I was wondering what my chances are.

High school:
My weighted GPA was around a 4.1, unweighted around 3.5
SAT score: 2000
AP scores: I got 5s on psychology, both physics C exams, & calculus BC
(AP Scholar with Honor Award)

Extracurricular activities:
- Regular volunteer at an animal shelter
- Marching band for my freshman and senior year (flute)
- Flute ensemble
- Jazz band (saxophone)
- Dance ensemble for my sophomore, junior, and senior year
- National English Honor Society
- Math & physics tutor (pro bono)

College:
First semester GPA: 3.536
31 degree credits completed after the first semester
Second semester expected GPA: 3.75 - 4.0
+21 degree credits after second semester

Extracurricular activities:
- Volunteer work at the animal shelter
- Marching band (mellophone)
- Pep band (mellophone)
- Concert band (French horn)
- An organization consisting of 13 female computer science related majors and we create lesson plans (similar to CS unplugged) and teach computer science to middle schoolers in New Brunswick.

I'm half South Korean & half German if that changes anything at all.

Also, I'm planning on getting a summer internship soon that is computer engineering related.

I’m applying to cornell as a transfer student as well
my HS gpa was low, 3.39. college GPA is a 3.8 and i’ve gotten straight as for the last two semesters.

I think for people like us the essays will be really make or break. even though you’re technically competition, good luck!

Thanks for your input ^^"
Good luck to you too!
