Hi, I was originally told that my chances of getting into CSULB were pretty low (a high reach), but I just received my SAT score and was wondering if that’d change.
GPA: 2.9 (CSU, Unweighted)
SAT: 1250 (originally 1130)
My EI is 3,570

Also, does anyone know an estimate of the average EI for CSULB? I know it’s not posted online anywhere, but I’m just curious as to if anyone here has an idea.
Intended major? CSU GPA capped weighed? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
CSULB has a modified EI for STEM majors but around a 3900+ EI has been competitive for CSULB. Unless you are local, it will be a Reach school.
The minimum Eligibility Index requirement for admission to the Fall 2018 term for all CSU campuses will increase to 2950 using the SAT.
Graduates of California high schools and other California residents:
3,200 minimum “Eligibility Index” to be considered for non-STEM major and a 3,300 minimum “STEM Eligibility Index” for STEM majors. (Be aware this is higher than the minimum for CSU system-wide eligibility.
The STEM Eligibility Index for CSULB ranking in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) majors is calculated as follows:
(College Preparatory Grade Point Average* X 600) + SAT Critical Reading + (2 X SAT Math). *Refer to the College Preparatory Grade Point Average section below for details on how this GPA is calculated.
probably not - but it is worth a shot. Definitely also apply to less selective CSUs Most majors at SJSU, Sac and Sonoma are open to you.
What do you want to study and what are your other interests?
Alright, well thank you both! I’ll give it a shot anyway. I’m applying to Sac as a last resort since I’m local and will commute if I go there. I’m also applying to SFSU and Sonoma. I applied as a communications major to all of them
