Chance me for CSULB Aerospace Engineering

Hi! I’m currently a Junior living in Southern California and my current UC weighted GPA is around 3.75-3.85 and having a sat score of 1280 ( 630 English and 650 math). I would like to see my chances for CSULB’s aerospace engineering major and I’m first generation college-bound student so I hope that helps, I’m also involved in extracurricular activities in my school. I’m open to any suggestions& pieces of advice!
Thanks in Advance

Are you in the local CSULB service area? http://www.csulb.edu/admissions/local-preference-admission-consideration

You need to calculate your CSULB Stem eligibility index so you need an accurate CSU capped weighted GPA first.

I like to use the Rogerhub calculator for CSU and UC GPA’s. Your CSU GPA = UC capped weighted.

https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Your STEM EI= (CSU GPA capped weighted x 600)+ (SAT EBRW) + (SAT Math x2)

Based on last year’s results a minimum STEM EI of 4000+ could make you a competitive applicant.

CSU’s rank applicants based on EI and major. If you are within the local service area, you get local priority but not a guaranteed admission into your choice major. Your chances depend upon how your EI compares to all the other Aerospace Engineering applicants.

Don’t worry with stats like that you’d get in.

I hope that is the case… I’m just unsure about that 29% acceptance rate

thank you so much! as it turned out, my STEM index is around 4150-4180, tight fit I know but do I still have a shot?

I had exactly the same stats as you when I applied to Long Beach and I got in last year, don’t worry you’ll get it.
