Chances for Davidson Academy

We are currently exploring the thought of a boarding/prep HS (love Milton right now) for our daughter, currently in 6th grade. However, we recently decided to pursue admission to the Davidson Academy in Reno, NV for the rest of her Middle School (I would move out there with her and get an apartment for the school year) and then see after that what to do about HS. She is a Davidson Young Scholar and meets the criteria for application for DA (150 on WISC IV and 24's on Explore Test).

My question is, beyond that, does anyone have experience with the interview process at DA? She has all A's but has never been grade skipped, but is able to fly through textbook material. Her passion is anatomy/biology subjects and has a 'dissection lab' in our garage. Her weak area is organization...since hitting Middle School this year she has had to adjust to a 7 class, A/B day structure, etc. It's hard to find someone who has been through the admissions process to DA. Beyond the basic criteria, what does a student need for admissions there?

Also, how would Milton/Exeter type prep schools view a student coming from DA? Thanks for any input...

I only know what I’ve read online, but my guess is that if she already qualifies as a Davidson Scholar, she won’t have too much trouble getting in. I think it’s great that you’re willing to uproot temporarily to get her the best education possible. I can’t imagine the more selective boarding schools viewing Davidson Academy in a negative light.
