What was your impression about Milton?

I though Milton would be weird to board at because it is 50-50 boarding and day. I live about 30 minutes away and decided to board at Milton. Many of my day student friends say that the day students tend to stick together along with the boarders sticking together. I think that 50-50 has its pros and cons but i think that the cons outweigh the pros in this situation. Milton is a great school and all but Milton is a bit shaky for me. Great sports, academics, close to home, but i dont know about this 50-50

is it true boarders are academically better since it is more selective/harder to get in at high school age, while most day students get in at a vrey young age, even before middle school ??

I have heard that it is incredibly difficult to get in as a day student who is applying for 9th grade. This doesnt account for people who had been there since kindergarden. I think that the middle grades have to reapply and most get to stay but some are not accepted back for some reason.

so day students all come from its own middle school directly? If so, my previous assumption might be true: boarders are better students since these new comers are really selected

not all day students!!! Most of the really smart ones enter the school in 9th grader and did not attend milton before.

The 50/50 Split and the Proximity to the Big city were a turn off. Great academics and diverse student body with strong alumni
