Legacy at Umich

  • Reach: Duke, Umich, Stanford, USC,JHU
    • Match: Purdue, MSU

-Safety: Local college, Illinois tech.

Any advice would be appreciated as well

Why is UMich in your reach category? At most it is a high match. Instate and legacy at UMich are great. You have an good chance at UMich considering your class rank and gpa may make up for your SAT. As for Duke, your SAT is a little low but I still think you have a chance, especially with ED. Good luck

I’ve just seen many supposed scorers of 33+/2200+ be chanced very low on umich, so I might be overestimating it. @pk1jk1 what SAT score do you think would cut it?

Well on the UMich website, it says the SAT range is 2050-2330. Granted that is a huge range, you are an instate student so you it would probably be a lower range for you. A 1450 is roughly a 2100, so even though it is not much higher, it will probably not limit you too much considering you are also a legacy applicant.

I see, what SAT do you think I would need for Duke? @pk1jk1 1

Your. extracurriculars GPA are solid. Your standardised test score is probably too low for Duke. That stands out. I really do not think you should apply to Duke. I really don’t think you should apply to Duke. ED increases your chances of getting in, hence you should maximise your chance of getting in a top college such as UWash which is not as selective.
