You are not attending a very selective school, so your good class rank and GPA are less impressive. Duke will probably look more closely at your standardized test scores, such as SAT I, SAT II and AP tests. In my opinion, you should have taken AP Cal and AP Physics in Junior year, so Duke could see your AP scores on these subjects and your ability to handle a difficult courseload. What was your AP score on AP Lang & comp?

I think your class rank tells you a lot about the caliber of school you are in: A 3.95 being #10, at my school you’d be valedictorian. Also, what is the maximum possible weighted gpa you have? One thing that stands out to me is that you didn’t take a math course in junior year, which is not a generally recommended thing to do. Your extracurriculars are lacking, unfortunately, because it seems the only one you truly are invested in is volunteering through your school’s key club. It doesn’t look, from what you wrote here, that you took much individual effort in any extracurricular but key club. The fact that you are in a rural area diminishes the negative effect of this, but it still doesn’t look good. It looks that all you spend time on is school and key club. To even apply to duke, you need 2 SAT II’s (I believe), and you didn’t list any. Your ACT, though low for a school like Duke , can hopefully be raised to appx a 33. Another weird thing about your transcript is that you took another US history course after APUSH, which is rather odd. Overall, to give you a highly accurate chance, I would have to know about how many students a year from your school go to appx. Duke level schools. Take SAT II’s, improve your ACT/take SAT, and do something outside of school!

Overall, not knowing anything else, Duke is at least a Mid, if not High Reach.
