Chances for ED 2- legacy w/low GPA, good test scores....

Hi guys,

I have a 4.53 weighted GPA (only got two Bs junior year-otherwise As) at high school, but I've taken 31 credits of college classes, but I got some bad grades in chemistry, so my GPA is ~2.8 there.

My aunt is a prof at Emory (she headed a department for a while), and she wrote me a letter of rec. I sent in a rec letter from my mentor at the lab where I'm doing research (have been working there since July). I also sent in an essay explaining that I got some bad grades because of a personal situation, but I got another bad grade this semester (D in Organic chemistry.... had gotten a D in org chem 1, then retook it for a C and moved on to ochem 2- otherwise, I had As and Bs at college)), so I'm freaking out.

I wrote my why emory? essay about growing up on campus and feeling at home there and how I liked the liberal arts/sciences paired through GT engineering combined program. I also applied to emory scholars. I ordered a DVD just now. I listed that i talked with a couple students, but I recently talked with a couple biology and theater professors and I haven't updated the app to include that. I'm from GA, but I live in colorado. I'd love to move back.

Some stats:

SAT- 720cr, 770 math, 680 writing (I didn't send my subject tests, but they were (640/720/610)
ACT- 35 comp

ECs: tons of stuff with theater- I'm directing a one act this year
also, volunteering with city for forest restoration- wrote scholars essay about forestry and its connection to my research in alternative fuels.

I also run my own online store selling jewelry I make to give $ to co. environmental coalition.

I have an internship at a lab at the local university researching biofuels processes. I sent in an abstract.

I also sent my national merit semifinalist card to them.

What do y'all think are my chances for ED2 and RD?

ED2: for sure
RD: still quite strong, i mean those “bad” grades seem to be overshadowed by the rest of your stats
