<p>I have a chance thread going in its appropriate forum, but since Bowdoin’s my top pick I figured I’d get more targeted responses here…That thread is mostly because I’m curious about the other choices on my list. I’ll mostly copy/paste from that thread though.</p>

<p>NOTES: Obviously there’s an upward trend, and I have reason to believe that there’s a chance my second quarter senior year grades will be slightly better than they are now, but don’t assume that in your chancing. If that makes a huge difference just make note of it.</p>

<p>Teacher: One really good, one potentially good but I haven’t read it.
Counselor: Probably good, but I have no idea how good her writing is.</p>
<h2>Essays</h2>

<li>Everyone that I know that has read them likes them, so take that for what it’s worth. Essays primarily deal with mental health issues freshman year and debate team involvement. I’m just hesitant to be like, “They’re freakin’ amazing!!” when I’m obviously biased.</li>

<h2>Awards</h2>

<li>Nothing really, school doesn’t give awards for one thing. I was a National Merit Commended Student, which I’ll mention, but I’m pretty sure it’s not worth much.</li>

<h2>Final Thoughts</h2>
<p>Low GPA, high SATs, zero spread on the ECs (but certainly targeted depth), not sure where I stand really for ED II. Harsh and laudatory comments are welcomed equally. I already think Bowdoin’s a big reach for me but I want to see if other people agree.</p>
