I do have a downward trend in grades, but an upward trend in course difficulty. I went from taking 2 honors freshman year (all As), to 4 honors sophomore year (half As, half Bs), to taking 5 honors and 1 AP junior year (all Bs, A- in the AP) and I will be taking 5 APs Senior year.

University of Maryland is my absolute first choice school. I can't really see myself anywhere else. How could I let them know this?

I don’t really have any basis for chancing you, as I don’t normally do these chance threads, but try to get that math SAT score up a bit for engineering. Your math SAT2 score is good, so you seem to know what you’re doing, but unfortunately, Maryland doesn’t look at SAT2 scores. They will probably be impressed by your senior year courseload, as many seniors like to slack off and take an easy year. Good luck with everything!

Oct SATs just came in!

Take 1: 610M, 530CR, 630W
Take 2: 580M, 560CR, 640W
Take 3: 700M, 600CR, 620W

I sent in all 3 scores but my only worry is that even though I scored a 700 on math, they will think lesser of it because of my two lower scores. I do have the 700 Math II to back it up. I don’t know what happened on take 1 and 2… I’m a good math student. I’m just glad I finally broke 700s in math.

Good chances. I advise you to be very careful about the dream school approach though. Since you’re out-of-state, the tuition is like almost three times what in-state students pay. I can definitely tell you that an education here is not worth 30,000k per year (EE student at Maryland). Go to your in-state school and study hard. But if you’re rich, then the finances might not even be a problem.

Good job getting your Math score up. It’s hard to tell for getting directly into the LEP…the competition is pretty tight. Keep your grades up this year…I assume you are a junior from your post. Your grades this year will be the most important!! Good luck.
