chances for engineering

Hi, I know that I've asked a few times already, but I've recently been considering getting a degree in engineering. I don't know if I want to do engineering necessarily, but I think I want at least a degree. So yeah, can anyone chance me for Comp engineering at mich? Also, if this major is lowering my chances so much that I might be borderline because of it, how hard would it be to apply as say a physics major and then transfer to engineering later on? Since I'm borderline for mich anyway, if transfering isn't too hard, then I'll probably want to do that just so I can get in, so please help me figure out how to do it if you can.

thanks!

Solid match. You definitely have a good chance of getting in.

so would you say to just apply as an engineering major, or transfer from LSA?

just apply for engineering, its not that much harder to get in, and its a hassle transferring from lsa

Ooooo Beaverton. I know a friend from there. He got in Boston U.
Sorry for the digression, haha.

Our son starts in the Engineering College this August. He is in state; had about a 3.8 weighted gpa at a parochial all boys HS with lots of tough classes and 30 ACT. Rec'd 5s in AP Chem, AP Physics and AP Computer and 4s in the other five or so AP classes he took. His ECs are not nearly as impressive as yours. Good luck!

yeah but seriously, I really am not so sure how good of a match Umich is for me even if I do apply to LSA, so thats why I'm really apprehensive. Is it really that bad to transfer, because I'd REALLY REALLY like to take the safest route possible and run with that, but I don't want to cause a huge headache later on as well.

if you want the safest route, apply to nursing :P. then transfer. it should be easy to get into that as a guy. Dunno if prop 2 is gonna affect it a lot.

lol yeah but I don't think I have the ECs to get into nursing.

Is there anyway though that I could apply to both? UT has something where you can apply to say McCombs, and if they drop you, then you can be picked up by another college. Does mich have some sort of system like that?

I don't think so.

You shouldn't be so worried, ur gpa is amazing. And your ACT is not bad either. I got in with a 31 ACT. Ive known people who got in with 30s. You shouldn't have any problem with getting into engineering.
