Ideally I would be moving to Austin this month, but I missed the deadline and must wait another year, so this would be for the Fall 2012 semester.

I just wrapped up 61 hours at a CC with a GPA of 3.93, BUT I need to finish some indicator courses to transfer, so I would take my last two indicator courses (Calculus II & Microeconomics) at my CC this Fall semester, which will give me a total of 68 hours and a 3.94 GPA.

After that Fall semester, I would take a break from school to keep my hours down, which is what a UT advisor recommended I should do to "stay competitive". She said I would just need to explain the gap in time. To keep myself busy, I would hopefully land an internship or get another job in addition to the part-time job I already have.

So, I don't think this is your typical external transfer situation... what do you think my chances are?

At the time of application I will have:

68 hours
3.94 GPA (with A's in all indicator courses)
Good essays (at least)
Rec Letter from Intro to Business teacher who likes me quite a bit
Probably another letter from my micro/macroeconomics teacher
A valid explanation for my gap semester
Only B was in ENGL 1302/RHE 309K (in my first Fall semester / put forth MINIMAL effort / should have 4.0 / smh)
1 course withdrawal: Intro to Engineering (was considering Engineering at the time / wasn't for me)

Let me know if you desire any more info. Thanks.
