Please let me have your honest opinion on my chances on getting into Florida State.

Im a senior, Florida resident.

Taken 3 AP courses.
SAT: 1030, ACT: 23

National Honor society member, Captain of Relay for Life, member of 3 other school clubs, Manager of soccer team.

will apply early early decision

THANK YOU!

Unless you retake the SAT/ACT and score substantially higher your chances are probably slim.

What is your rank are you in the top 20% of your class?

Florida has this program that guarantees you admission in to any school within the State University System. You may not get the University of your choice but at least you will have a college available to you. I am a Floridian as well that is why I know about this stuff, but I am not applying to UF or FSU because they dont offer my major unfortunately. I am applying to UM, Duke, UPenn, Stanford, and Yale.

Talented 20 Program

I'd suggest considering these steps:

Take the SAT/ACT (whichever you do better on) again and again - after solid preparation. FSU will take the best scores you make.

Scour the FSU Admissions webpages for clues as to what they want in an applicant.

Visit, if possible, an FSU admissions officer for a real read on your credentials and what you can do to improve your chances if necessary.

Apply EARLY (August) as soon as the application period opens.

Apply for Summer session (have to adjust #4 timing for this) if the fall cycle is out of reach.

Consider TCC (in Tallahassee) if FSU is out of reach as a freshman, then try and transfer.

Good luck!
