I plan on applying in state to George Mason to major in mechanical engineering in January, what are my chances of getting in?
Gpa- 2.8 weighted, but there’s a steep improvement curve. Freshman/sophomore was 2.2 but junior was 3.8 and first quarter for senior year is 4.4
SAT- math-740 English 740
ACT- didn’t take
Essay- my English teacher told me it was great so it should be fine
Recommendations- they should be pretty good
Classes- senior year: dual enrollment English, STEM engineering, IB physics SL 2, plus 3 honors classes and 1 additional IB class
Extracurriculars: marching band freshman and sophomore year, HOSA treasurer junior year, knitting and pie club (a community service club where we knit things for various charities) senior year
-I’ve had a paying job (as a cashier) since the end of freshman year

- I struggled with mental illness and a lot of family issues during the first part of high school which is the reason for my bad grades freshman/sophomore year. This info is all in my essay
