Chances for getting into Rutgers as a transfer student?

OK, right now I am attending a community college and have completed one year of classes. I really screwed up my first year ending up with a GPA of 2.5 and a cumulative GPA of 2.75. I took the SAT's over a year ago and got a 1670. I want to apply to Rutgers-Newark or Rutgers-NB for the Fall 2010 semester and was wondering what my chances are? I'm positive I'll do much better this semester and try to bring my GPA up to about a 3.0. Can I apply now and send in my transcript again with my updated grades from this upcoming semester. Also, who do I have to contact about sending my SAT scores with my application and will I need any recommendation letters like I did in high school? Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m a transfer applying to Rutgers Fall 2010 too.
You don’t need to send your SATs if you’ve taken more than 12 credits. Send your current grades, and I believe they will ask you to send your final grades later. You don’t need any letters, in fact they say in admissions that they won’t accept any, which sucks for me because I got one.

As for getting in, it might depend on your major, as some are more compitive then others. I haven’t been accepted yet, so i don’t know yet.

Hope that helped a bit.

Well my major is Biology, does that make any difference?

which school did u apply to?/did u hear back yet?
im in the RU transfer situation too.

I’m in the same situation right now :/.
I heard from Camden and they already accepted me.
I’m still waiting for NB.
I currently have a 3.6 gpa.
Are the chances good?
