^^^^ thanks man, anyone else?

A little past info? I was weight-listed by Roanoke my senior year of HS and I was denied by Northeastern last year. Northeastern said the classes I had taken weren’t competitive enough. I had no math or business classes at the time, but since I have taken College algebra and I am currently taking Statistics. I am also currently taking Economics 201 and Accounting 201. Next semester I plan on taking Calc, Economics 202, and Accounting 202.

can I get a few more opinions?

bumppppppp

Where are you now?

local community college in Maryland

Ok, you’re a little iffy for both GW and UMD. I haven’t even heard of Mt. St. Mary’s before so I can’t comment on that. For schools of that caliber, you should ideally have at least a 3.5 GPA, especially because you’re coming from a CC. I think you should work on getting that GPA up to at least a 3.5 and then your chances should be strong for UMD and solid for GW.

well, my GPA is actually 3.45 if that matters. Does 0.05 points really matter that much? haha

My point is that it would help if you raise it. I would say aim for 3.6 if possible but a high 3.5 wouldn’t be all that bad either.

Agreed. Try to bump up the GPA. Also, could you provide more detail for your community service? I’m in the CC boat as well. You definitely have to make up for the CC stigma with high marks when dealing with out-of-state schools. Also, if you could find one more extracurricular activity (that you can be relatively involved in), it would help.
