Chances for HKU, HKUST, CUHK? *URGENT PLEASE HELP*

Hey guys! I reallllly need the help from the experts.
It’s so frustrating that Hong Kong Universities don’t post admission rates…

I currently applied for HKU Engineering, since they pulled the deadline to November, with just the scores I have…

I want to apply for HKUST Engineering/Science and CUHK Energy and Environmental Engineering.

My Academics:

Current GPA: 3.7
New SAT: 1380 (630/750), Essay 7/7/7
SAT II: Math2: 690, Chinese: 800, Chemistry: 650
HSK: 217
TOEFL: 112 (25/28/29/30)

Extracurricular Activities:

MUN President, mostly argued in ECOSOC Committee about environment and sustainability
Student Council President, including the acts of charity and creating a clean environment in and out of school
Won Annual Speech contest once, came second once.
Won the Annual Science Trivia Competition
Won the Science Debate for Sustainable Energy in China
Joined Soccer team in 2015, won first place in competition. Couldn’t play in others due to injury
Joined Volleyball Team in 2016

I just took the December SAT… and will it make my chances higher if I get a 1400+?

HELP ME PLEASE… I want to go to Hong Kong for University…

Oh… and my mom is highly against CUHK… I’m still trying to win her over, but I only have about a month to do so. Is there any way to convince her? I’m Korean and she says that she’ll rather send me to a Korean University than go to CUHK, because she thinks that she doesn’t want to spend money educating me in a school “worse” than CUHK, when most Korean Unis have lower ranking than CUHK… and the top ones like SNU or KAIST I definitely cannot go.

Help would be appreciated guys…

Um just adding to that, the HSK is the 6th level. So the highest one

1380 is a pretty competitive score. In Hong Kong universities, they usually value grades more than extracurriculars. Extracurriculars can help you when you’re really on the boundary, but other than that, it shouldn’t be a huge difference. Don’t go to CUHK if you’d like to study that field- CUHK’s well known for its business school, not engineering.

If you want to study engineering, go to HKU/HKUST, I recommend the latter though.
